1/6th Ambrotype of ID’ed Early War Alabama Confederate

1/6th ambro of a early war image of Pvt. William Elijah Young, "Brundidge Guards", Company F, 15th Alabama Infantry. A 26 year old married farmer, he enlisted on 1 March 1862 in Brundidge, Pike County, Alabama. He was mortally wounded at the Battle of Sharpsburg, Maryland on 17 September 1862 and died on 15 October 1862. Other records state that he was mortally wounded on 13 September 1862 near Harper's Ferry, West Virginia, but the record stating he was mortally wounded at Sharpsburg. The image had a period written ID with it but has been lost over time from being with different collectors.
