1/6th Tintype and Solar Enlargement of 31st Illinois Infantry of Union Soldier George Etheridge. On the back of the Solar enlargement is Roy Huff Eitheridge and Zora Etheridge who were children of James Washington Etheridge who was the brother of George Etheridge. Leading to me firmly believe that this is George Etheridge who served with the 31st Illinois Infantry Co. D. Enlisting in Cairo, Illinois on August 17, 1861 and mustering out March 23, 1862 when he passed away from Disease at Allen Springs, Illinois.
