A sixth plate ambrotype of an armed Confederate soldier. The image comes out of Chester, Virginia in Chesterfield County. There were a number of infantry companies that organized in the county including the Ist Virginia Reserves, Co. K, 6th Infantry, Co. D, 14th Infantry, and Co. B, 41st Virginia Infantry. The soldier is wearing a gray nine button frock coat with an additional button on the collar and matching pants.

He is holding a Mississippi rifle. The tablecloth has been tinted and has a distinct pattern making identification to other known images with same tablecloth possible.
