Captain Edward Butler Green Company K 21st SC infantry. Photo taken while a POW at Fort Columbus , NY Harbor. As I was looking through some old scans I had from my Dear Late friend Mr. William (Bill) Turners collection I was surprised to see a colored enhanced copy of the same identified image I had years before. The Horse Soldier sold the image some years later with an incorrect Id when I purchased it—per seller
This image shows a Confederate Artillery Frock Coat with the infamous Red trim on the cuffs and a beautiful double breasted jacket. But after many discussions with other experts there is a few other images of Green in this same pose. The original image ID’ed as him had no tinting and another had blue tinting on the cuff. The red is likely an artist touch added to Captain Greens image.
