CDV  from Tennessee of Federal Soldier Wearing Velvet Cuff and Collar Frock. One thing that is interesting is the tax stamp attached to this image. For two years photographs sold to the Union states or occupied states public were taxed, with the proper tax amount affixed through adhesive revenue stamps that were placed on the photograph's back. The inclusion of a revenue stamp is significant because the photograph can be dated back to the short two-year period of 1864 – 1866.
