Illinois Civil War Dr.Barry Crutch, Butcher/Amputation Saw and Medical Association Document.
Born in Cork, Ireland Dr. Barry attended the Rush Medical College in Chicago, was a Surgeon in the Illinois Voluntary Infantry in the 80th and the 130th Illinois Infantry. during the Civil War. Following the war he continued as a general practitioner of medicine in Jerseyville, Illinois for the remainder of his life living until 1926. This spectacular grouping was picked out of Southern Illinois by a picker. This grouping includeds a primative crutch, bone saw as well a Illinois Civil War Medical Association document belonging to Dr. Barry.
