San Francisco, California Identified Federal Soldier CDV

Rare San Francisco, California Identified Federal Soldier Thomas Percival who enlisted in San Francisco on July 11, 1862  and deserted for a unknown reason from Fort Churchill, Nevada August 5, 1862. His short service was in the 2nd California Cavalry. Later Thomas re-enlisted in the 1st California Cavalry in Stockton serving the entirety of the Civil War mustering out in March of 1866 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
